Two coins upon his blessed eyes

Achilles killed Hector in single combat
Just as Hector had taken his cousin's life
Patroclus taken way too young it's true
That's what a loving cousin had to do
Many deaths in war time: for what purpose?
So many thousands over as many years
When will it all end: how many more tears?
Why must we still pay the piper?
Why cannot we strive for peace?
Ah dear Lord this world is filled with sadness
Ever will man live to rue his days...
When wars take precedence over peacetime
When lust and greed overcomes all sense...
