Was there no other way?

A thought just crossed my mind
From many years ago: so sad it was
To remember the cabinet maker
He took his own life back then
Was there no other way out for him?
Why did he have to do it?
His creation stands before me
A beautiful piece of furniture
A true work of art: blessed craftsmanship
Yet after all the time and work put in
Was there no joy left in it?
The two delivery men were saddened
As they told us of his tale
A young man with a young family
Suicide took him from his wife and kids
Left them sad and at a loss
Such a terrible price to pay
Such an awful waste of precious life
How did they ever get through it?

I look back now to barely 18 months ago
We lost my husband: kids lost their dad too
Why did he have to do it?
Leaving us to carry our burdens alone...

Others too have carried their burdens
Many take their own life: for what?
Have they run out of good thoughts?
Does Satan come and tell them lies?
Saying " they'll be better off without you"
Ah Lord it is so sad when life becomes
Too heavy to bear: too difficult to fathom

We need prayers for everyone of us
We need you Lord more than ever
Dear Lord please help us all as we cry out
Send your angels to ever be beside us
Send your dear angels to always guide us!
