Forgive him

Forgive him for he knows not what he does
Forgive him for he knows not what he says
He is lost and alone upon this journey
He goes out upon those winding roads
He travels alone because he does not see
That he needs someone along: a guide
His dearest Lord maybe!
His faith is weak: he does not seek
Therefore he will not find: he is so lost
He doesn't understand how easy it is to trust
How easy it is to give up his troubles
How like a little child he is right now
He will not give up his toy for fixing
He will not let any come too near
He lives in fear: yes he lives in fear of his own  making!
No good thing can come of this but
Until he trusts again this is his plan
He will walk alone upon these dusty roads
He will be tossed & turned over & over again
Simply because he will not lay his trust in any
Yes simply because he will only trust himself
He knows not what is his destiny: cares not to look up
Cares not to ask in faith for eternity is upon him and
Still he will not see: though it sits before his face!
