Trick or treat

Saw a few kids roaming around the streets for Halloween
Four children together: excitement in their eyes
Going from house to house: hoping for some fun
All dressed up in their colourful costumes: faces made up
It was still daylight: the sun was shining brightly still!
What fun to join in & celebrate the end of October
The only difference was that mum was driving her car
Up the street along with the kids: making sure
That all would go as planned: no mischief: no underhand
Actions to be tolerated from anyone: no nastiness to be had
I was glad to see that sense still rules: mums taking care of their little kids
Literally keeping an eye on the fun: being aware that mums are needed
To keep the peace & keep the fun safe & great for everyone!

  1. I don't think it is good celebration because of it's pagan roots and commertion. But I think, that if someone treats for example horrors only as fiction, that can be neutral. Worse situation is when someone treats them (and another films and books) as reality. Greetings from sunny South Poland :)

  2. It's an American thing, but somehow we seem to be taking after them in so many ways: I guess it is just one more thing we are copying! I don't agree with it but I saw the kids out the other night so I decided to write about it> greetings from warm & sunny Australia.
