We went hunting for mushrooms
Many years ago: with our nieces
Also with my brother and sister-in-law
We found so many mushrooms
In fairy rings and all alone
We picked them: put them in baskets
We took them all back home
We cooked them all up and ate them
We had them on warm toasted bread
I can still remember the children's voices
Calling out in their excitement
"Look I've found another mushroom!"
Yes I recall those excited voices
They still float around in my head!
