He's only 5 years old
Yet he seems much more
Yes he's beyond a child
Like he's been here before
He said "don't cry mummy"
Don't you worry now!
I'll take care of you!"
You know it hurts so bad
When daddy acts so mad
He doesn't mean to be
But he just doesn't see
He thinks you're made
Of so much sterner stuff
He just doesn't understand
He needs to set you free
He needs to let you go
Have a few days away
Maybe he would understand
If he could only take your hand
Find out how your poor heart pains
Absorb it all into his head
Maybe things would be different then?
I guess I'll just keep praying then!
