I know it as New Years Eve
Some know it as Sylvester
That amazing night of nights
When year ends: another begins
Celebrations demanded for the ending
Bringing in the new year for everyone!
When I was a teen we went together
My family and many others
Would travel together to that Ball
Dancing until after midnight: great band music
Everyone so happy to sing & dance
Loud music erupting into the night air
Like celebrating at a fantastic fair
Kisses & cuddles; hugging & laughter
So many thoughts flying upwards
Into the dark: shimmering moonlight
Our voices raised up to our Lord
Thankful for another old year ending
Another bright new year descending!
