Too many big words

The things kids get to watch these days
So many different cartoons & stuff
We only had black & white TV
Played outside a lot: that's all there was
Today's kids are saturated with stuff
Zac loves watching Charlie & Lola
He thinks it's really grand
He copies a lot of things you know
He's a real little copy cat for sure
Today he was sitting on my lap
Pretending to read Huckleberry Finn
He said "Look Nana, I'm reading!"
As he flipped a few pages over &
Seemed so immersed in that book
Then he looked at me as he tossed
It away & said "Too many big words"
Just like he heard on Charlie & Lola!
