Misty moonlight tale

Tall and slender
She leant against
Closed balcony doors
Her warm breath...
Fogging up the glass
Full moon creeping
Out from behind
The drifting clouds
Chimes ringing loudly
Through the wintry air
Long winding corridors
Warmly lit up inside
Echoing throughout
The magnificent castle
It was time...

Pale mists
Dew licked grass
Tall trees
Once hiding: once revealing
Myriad stars
Reflected upon
Crystal streams...

Hot house flowers
Warm scent of carnations
Upon the night breeze
Silver leaves sparkling
Dancing and twirling
Pale violet blossoms

Softest swirls of clouds
Dared only caress
A full, glowing moon
Just in passing
Lest they spoil the view

She stands in the clearing
Tall and slender still
Tiny cottage surrounded
By herbs and shrubs until
Her wide, dark-lashed eyes
Can take the scenery in...

Beauty of the darkness
All around her
Long, soft, black curls
Surround her face
Now a warmer wind
Caresses...
Long tendrils
Skim upon her lower back
Velvet skirts a-swirl

She stood waiting
For the right moment
Senses alert...

Her head fell back
Arms; raised up
Palms to the diamond sky
Dark eyes closed
Lashes shadowed
Upon her pale, soft cheeks
Full lips partly opened
A small sigh escaped
Echoing into the forest
Dropping her hands
Levelling her head
She looks about
Continues out into the night
Her mind
Clear and alert
Once again

Warm rain scented air
Blew through the trees
Sounds of leaves dancing
Upon the high branches
Added to the night's chorus
Animals...
Going about their business
Water splashing from their paws
Sparkling stream
Not far off
Trickling; bubbling
As in a mystic dream

The low hum of nature
Once again
Beneath dark skies
Glittering with
A million tiny diamonds
Sharing the heavens
With the glowing orb
Hanging in the eastern skies

I felt, saw, tasted
Everything...
The air around me
Alive with the mystery
Of the fairy tale
So real
So beautiful
In amazing detail

Found the notes
to this fairy tale
