Roundabout dog

I'd had a small accident
The car door wasn't properly closed
As I reversed; it fell open; was bent a bit
It never closed the same again! 
Now our dear German shepherd dog
Loved to lean out of our car window
He loved the feel of the fresh air
On his face as we drove about
I was driving around a roundabout
The door opened up and out he fell
With a yelp he rolled out on the road
I stopped and thanked the Lord
No one was right behind us
That was definitely a plus!
Dear Kaiser learned his lesson
That very day because
He always sat in the back seat 
Of our little Toyota Corolla after that!
