Step by step

Feeling more positive today

The pain that was eating me away

Has receded for the now

Though the guilt still makes its gains

I must move forward: toward that day

When I will feel at peace at last

When I will feel God’s forgiveness

When I will feel God’s blessed trust

Right here in this simple heart

I know He Lives here inside

Nothing I feel I know I cannot hide

So I must trust in Him

Must let Him be my guide

There is no other way to go

But one step ahead of the other

Each and every single day!
