The shining one

About one hundred years ago
Down in the jungles of
The remote South American
Rainforests, Alqua lived
Am amazing dream he had
Many things were shown to him
Told by the visitor: the shining one
All about diet, health and cleanliness
All about God and the day He blessed
Alqua was to watch for the teacher
The one who was to come
Carrying his black book: leather clad
The village of Parima
In Western Guyana: forest lands
Where no time was kept
No calendar to be had

So to keep the time
A rope of knots was tied
And they loosed a knot each and every day
Keeping the time this way
Until they came every week
To the day that they were to keep!
Thus the Sabbath day did arrive
They were blessed: kept alive!

When the missionary did arrive
He found this amazing tribe
No primitive culture here was seen
Rather an orderly village square
The people: clean, well fed and fair
Faithfully observing the Sabbath there!
The custom still continues faithfully
Right up to this very day!

In the Zulu tongue: the word for Saturday
"The day of completion" or "the last day"
Shows that long before
The missionaries came
The Sabbath was kept
Just the same!
