Desperate for love

The filthy drunkard
In the gutter laying

Do you even care?
Who should call upon his

The dirty urchin
Begging in the street
Cold and hungry, distressed
Do you know her parents?
Do you judge her?
Without asking questions
Just the same
Each one is lost and lonely
Each one is desperate for
love
Each one cries out in
hunger
To our dear Lord in heaven
above
Will you feed these
children?
Of our dearest Lord...or
will you?
Turn away your eyes...
Without even offering a
kind word
