Simple gifts

Simple gifts to please a mother's heart
A bunch of flowers plucked from out
Of the garden bed right outside
Of her Kitchen door: what more
Could any mother want or need?
Than a simple gesture
Gathered up from among the weeds...
A kiss upon her blushing cheek...
Any of these would please a mum so meek
For in seeing the smile upon her child's face
Everything evaporates in love that is
Simply embraced...
Ah, God gave us little children
To help us see the light...
The precious rainbows in the sky...
The beauty of birds in flight...
All these; a delight unto the eye
Are dwarfed by a tiny smile...
By that twinkle in their eye
As they give their mum...
Just a tiny inkling of God's grace...
Yes we are but a blink in His mighty eye...
As he watches over us all
As we go about this blessed...
Happy Mother's Day...
