Trouble in paradise

There was trouble in paradise
That evil serpent slithered along
Determined to create a fuss, he came
To bring strife where before was none
He infiltrated those angel barriers...
Slunk in upon his belly, brought sin
Brought turmoil, brought strife...
For he knew just the things to say
To Eve, dear Adam's beautiful wife
He worked upon her nature, simple it was
To make her doubt her Lord's words
Worked his evil, brought disobedience
Brought the race of humans to damnation
As he showed her of the knowledge
That before was never in her thoughts
"You shall not surely die" he whispered
Into her mind he planted the seeds of doubt
She heard those words he uttered
She ate of the beautiful fruit
She offered these to her husband
Both knowing they should not give in
Afterwards
They covered themselves in shame...
God was angered and surely knew
Just what it was He had to do...
They were expelled from Eden
Left in fear and trembling...
Reaping of that evil fruit...
Now we are still forbidden to enter in
Because Eve and Adam did eat
Of that forbidden fruit...
