The ebb and flow of life (26th January 2011)

Drought has been the spectre in recent bygone years
Now as the earth is turning: a different world appears.
After all the dry dusty seasons the clouds are everywhere
The rain that falls is tumbling like great avalanches of snow
We blame it on La Nina but should we not all be called?
To face these drastic changes  as mankind has made his bed
How come it's all now evident but never this bad before?
In all our lifetimes dreaming the marks we've made are clear
Look at all those rain clouds! Look at all the squalls!
I know I prayed for the Murray to be in volume thus restored
Lord I never meant  this deluge; such destruction to be caused!
We can't escape the knowledge that we have all added too!
Surely we must understand we've contributed to Earth's load
By changing and destroying in the name of progress' road!
