Moses and Passover

Remember when in days of yore
As Moses took up his staff
How the dear Lord took him up
Onto His fiery mountain top
And there showed Moses his true path.
Remember when in Egypt then
As Moses asked Pharaoh
To let his people go
Remember all the famine and pestilence
When Pharaoh hardened his heart
And then after nine plagues were done
How the final test was passed
Because the people that were there
Ate bitter herbs, unleavened bread
And sacrificed their lambs
The blood of which was splashed upon 
The doors and lintels there
To save the first born at their hearths!


You may think it's just a tale
A bible story of old
But know you not that Jesus' blood
Like that of that lamb then sacrificed
Is still as powerful today!


How can we not see in today's world?
Like that of long ago
That Jesus is that lamb sacrificed
His blood our safety ensures
That everyone who believes in Him
Will be saved just like then
So many years ago!
