The waiting room

The waiting room is packed
Like sardines we are jammed
Cheek by jowl so to speak
From so many different walks of life
But no matter your life: your circumstance
Cancer shows no respect: cares not
What ever you do: everyone here
Comes to see how much longer
Their life just might be...
Could be weeks, months, years
Only God understands your fears
He sees inside your very soul
Knows your story: knows your heart
Wants to be of your life a part
But do you ever call upon His name?
Does your anger maybe...lay the blame
Are you accepting of your fate?
Are you champing at the bit?
Wondering why it is you
This illness has hit?
Is it genetic? Is it related to your lifestyle?
Do you wonder: all the while
Could I have changed?
Could I have done something?
To maybe sidestep this pain?
Do you search your mind?
Search your soul?
Thinking it all over
Do you cry or do you smile?
Remembering the good and the bad?
Do you pray unto our dearest Lord?
Believing all His precious words?
Do you ever think to blame?
Yourself for earlier mistakes?
Could you have averted this?
These thoughts ever fly through your head?
The what ifs...the wherefore's...
The maybe nots...
Well it is your life...
Enjoy what ever it is you have left!
