We all fear failure
Rejection too we fear
Hide behind our barricades
Trying: life to endure
Does this fear condemn us?
Does it set the pace?
If we remain walled in?
Away from the human race...
How will we ever grow?
How, continue on?
For though we seek
To keep others out
We also keep ourselves in
Locked within our doubts...
Locked within our fears...
Will you hide behind your shield?
Will you strengthen it each day?
Will you ever venture out?
Maybe take a chance to play...
