Why do the stars keep shining?

Why do the stars keep shining? 
Why do the clouds always appear?
When the darkness is deepest
When hearts tremble in fear...
So many people are distressed 
So many lost and all alone
Nobody to rescue the fallen 
Nobody to call on the telephone
Why does life go on around us?
Even when it should stand still...
Why do some succeed and climb up?
When others struggle with every hill?
Does having faith make a difference?
Does resting upon the Lord give strength?
Do those without a personal saviour?
Struggle on alone; give up their own will?
Does Satan close in on those who linger?
Too close for comfort upon the ledge...
Does he steal our peace: fear bringer?
Does he grasp us by the curtain's edge?
As we peer out from behind our fingers
Do we see the demon that we fear
Or can we be saved by our Lord Jesus?
When all else has left us wallowing in tears
Yes! Dear Jesus is our Saviour!
Yes! He has already paid our price!
Never doubt that Jesus loves us!
For it was for us He took up the fight!
Yes! We are worth dying for!
Yes! We are already delivered up!
Though Satan lies and scares us
We are worthy because Jesus paid our price!
