Signs of the times

October has only just begun
Yet the heat has us on the run
Like summer has already begun
We are burning: sizzling in the sun
Rays burn through the atmosphere 
Telling us that it's almost the end
Of another strange troubling year
Signs of the times seem to portend
The end of everything we hold dear
Wars and rumours of wars: everywhere
Earthquakes and crazy weather: clear
Fires ravage the countryside each year
Storm clouds gather to erupt in torrents
Tsunamis rush across the seas in waves
Floods of water devastate: lay to waste
Please dear ones I beg of you: make haste
Jesus is coming again in the clouds
Prepare for the bridegroom's return
Soon He will be seen coming on high
Angels surrounding Him in the skies
Are you ready for His return?
