Halloween

A year ago you said hello
It was right on Halloween...
Now you're just a scary thought
I wish you'd never been
Trick or treat the children cry
It's supposed to be great fun
But times have changed and
Now maybe it's better just to run
Fake blood and nasty smiles
Evil faces all made up to scare them
Some of those pretend freaks go miles
You really can't compare them
There's something sad about the night
When it's taken way too lightly
What reason could there be
To enjoy being so frightened but
Many want to join the games
Of this old pagan celebration...
