Friendships begun in childhood
Lasting all our lives; such joy
When we got together
After travelling all the night!
It was Easter time so long ago
I remember it so well
George and Gina our dear friends
Our two families celebrating together
Giving Easter eggs and hugs
Then their friends would come around
Annointing us with perfume
I still recall my unhappiness
As I had to give each one a gift
I didn't want to give away my Easter eggs
I was just a little girl
I wanted to keep my presents to myself
I wanted them to leave me alone
Didn't want their perfume at all!
Isn't it amazing how these memories
Do linger on from the 1960's!
