Primary school games

As a little child I loved the swings
Underneath the Pepper trees
At Moorook Primary School!
I loved that little school
Enjoyed going every day
Even though we had to walk
There and back each day!
We'd have to line up
In our classegroups before marching in!
The base and kettle drum
Beating in time like a military band
Backs straight, knees high
Heads held up high!
Recess and lunch time
Was free milk time
Play time too!
We'd play hidey chasy
Brandy chasy, hula hoops
Skipping ropes and four square
Anything to pass the day
We also played Cigarettes
One person was at one end of the lunch shed
Giving the initials of a cigarette brand
The others had to guess
Then run as fast as possible to win!
We played tennis and cricket
Played on the whirly pole
Ran about all over the grounds
Having the time of our young lives!
