The bell

As a little girl I was always in a hurry to grow up

I wanted to get to do so many things

But missed out because I was so short!

I wanted to be the bell ringer

Wanted to be that monitor so very much

I watched as the others would leave the room

Go down the hall and get to push that button

Letting everyone know that it was recess time!

How I loved that day when I finally 

Got to press that bell!
