The pain of parting

Parting is a pain
Losing loved ones: the same!
When life is lost
At any cost
Pain is all around!
The ones who are left
Must carry the rest
Must hold it all inside
Our hearts full of woe
It takes so long to go
It lingers way too long!
Such is life!
We love; we cry
We ask "Why?"
Then we must carry on!
The dear Lord's promises
We try to understand
Dear Lord, 
I know you said
"We would not be
Burdened with any more
Than we can bear!"
But dear Lord
It is so hard to see
When the pain is so new
When bleeding hearts do sigh for
The reasons for our loved ones to die!
