The Swallows

Two little swallows in love and so sweet
Moved it to our home, their family to create
They set up house in their small feathered nest
Choosing wool and grass, feathers and twigs
They lined their mud and daub as best
They worked so hard to set up their digs
They were busy and chirpy and happily dressed
That bright orange softly feathered breast
Black wings so dapper and sleekly sun-kissed
Plumage as white as the pure driven snow
Ready now to embark; their adventure so bold
Warming their nest to keep out the cold
God's little creatures so tiny and cute
Nesting in our eaves so shiny with paint
Soon the eggs were laid in their cosy nest
The happy couple so wonderfully blessed
Were singing their joy with voices so sweet
As they waited their family to complete
The eggs were ready to release their sweets
Those little parents  so eager to meet
Their tiny babies so tender and pink
Opening their beaks and eyes just a chink
Those little nestlings dependently seeking
Food and shelter from mother and father
Calling for dinner with their chirping and cheeping
Always hungry and growing so fast
Finally reaching their milestones at last
Learning to fly and sail through the skies
They twirl and they swoop and fly in the sun
Their life seems so easy and all full of fun
As they chase each other and fly up and down
They play and they sing to God's glory above
They are so happy and so full of love
They are God's little children at play in the day
While at night they settle down in their nests
Counting their lives as joyfully blessed
Recounting their joys in their happy breast
Ever and always full of joy; even at rest!
