The need to be needed

It's not just as a teen that you need to be needed!
It's not just as a teen that you need to be wanted!
It's not just as a teen that you 'd love to be loved!
Even now in my fifties; I feel that most basic need!
To be accepted; to be wanted; to be understood!
To have someone who will accept you as you are!
To have someone who will want you as you are!
To have someone who understands you as you are!
Without having to change to fit the bill!
Without feeling useless and without hope!
Without having to change a single thing!
Everyone; no matter who they are!
Everyone; no matter what they look like!
Everyone; no matter what their skin colour!
Needs to be needed; to be wanted; to be accepted!
