Before you judge...

So much sadness in this world
So many hurting: in distress
Words we fling at each other
No thought is given before we utter
Our words of condemnation; of hate
Wouldn't it be better to think a while?
Wouldn't it be nicer to simply smile?
Accept that everyone is hurting too...
How can we understand another's struggle?
Who are we to assume we know everything?
When we cannot even look into another's heart
Cannot see or feel their life: their part
In this monumental journey: this life

Only God can see into our very souls
Only God is able to discern our innermost thoughts
Only God truly understands our feelings
Only God may judge the heart and soul
For, we humans, have such a long, long way to go...

Before you assume...learn
Before you judge...understand
Before you hurt...feel
Before you say...think
