Why do birds call?
And dogs howl
And life seem to have no meaning
At times when we're sad
Nothing seems to matter
The world seems not to mend
Life goes on living
Yours seems to end
Kindness and cruelty
Always being dealt
Yet people are happy
And no pain is felt
What is the meaning of life?
If only I knew
Life would be simpler
And old would be new
Life would be so sweet
War would be peace
