Spiral staircase

Life is a spiral staircase rising ever upward
You never know what is ahead of you
You must place one foot ahead of the other
Upon those narrow steps that beckon you
You must trust that upwards is the better
You must trust that God will take care of you
If you seek to shelter in the basement
Never to escape your tormenting past
How long before you lose all hope dear?
How long before fear destroys your path?
For what good is looking backwards?
What good is living in the dreary past?
When it is forwards you must strive to go!
You will never rise up into the hereafter
If you cannot give up your struggles
And anchor yourself to God's higher power
And let Him be the wisest guide for you
For who can see clearly through darkness
Who can ever make it on their own?
When life continues twisting and turning
No matter how strait the path you choose...
So choose your centre wisely
Choose the best that any human can do
Allow God's light to shine into your lifetime
Let God lead you upwards into the blue...
