Red as the blood red rose
Orange as the summer sunset
Yellow gold as shimmering sunshine
Green as the new budding grass
Blue as crystal cascading waters
Indigo as distant mountain ridges
Violet as African violets in the snow
The colours of the blessed rainbow
Sent to show us wayfarers in time
God placed that bow in the skies
To remind us that He it is who
Sends the floods and guides us
To be nearer Him who made us
Yes he it is who loves us
Gives us all to sustain us
Each and every single blessed day
