Driving to Sydney: Elim Heights

The road trip to Sydney was long and hot
We stopped at a few motels along the way
Shelley wanted me; didn't wanted me to drive
She wanted me right next to her
Only daddy was allowed to drive!
I had to take over at one stage
Because Tim was tired!
Shelley cried and cried and cried!
She cried until she threw up all over herself!
We had to stop and clean her up!
We stopped at a nice little family owned motel
The lovely lady washed her "sussy" for her
She dried it and returned it so Shelley stop crying!
We later stopped at West Wyalong
There was a local fair going on
It was lovely to stop and enjoy ourselves!
The motel had a swimming pool
That was so relaxing for us all!
We really enjoyed Katoomba
The scenery was so beautiful
The mountains were so stunning!
We finally got close to Sydney but
We didn't actually go into the city
We got to see it from a distance
Through the trees along the top of the hills!
There was a bush fire in the area
At the time when we were travelling through
It was smokey and a little bit scary
Vanessa was about six and
Shelley was about 2 years old
We were looking for Elim Heights camp
There were no huge signs
So we missed the turn-off
We continued travelling
Along the road to Singleton
There we spent the night at a motel
We had no choice as it was getting dark
We didn't know the roads or the area
We turned around the next morning and
Headed back along Putty Road
Finally we arrived at Elim Heights
In time for Sabbath with our dear friends
Who had also travelled from South Australia!
