Good friends

Good friends for ever
Too long to say never but
Maybe for a few years only!
Such is life as we live it!
No other words to give it
Friendships die off
Through time and distance!
Time passes by 
Like the blink of an eye!
Suddenly
You've all grown up
Moved far away and those
Close links are broken!
Life just goes on
You're left behind son as
University beckons in the distance
You work all your young life
Maybe get married
Take a wife
Have children; a few and maybe
Have joy in it!
Then as time speeds up to the close
Some friends you will lose
Either in accidents or due to illness
When friends seem thin on the ground
You might look around and 
Find you are alone in your dotage!
It need not end like this
There is surely bliss
In knowing dear God up in heaven!
He promises this: 
When time passes by
In the blink of an eye
Jesus is coming again
To take us all up to Heaven
There we'll all meet 
Friends departed and sweet and 
All live for ever and ever!
