Poldark

I remember the TV series
Called Poldark!
I missed out on watching it
The first time it was on because
I lived so far away from Loxton!
While all the other students were
Already at home doing their homework
I was still travelling by bus
A bicycle ride still ahead of me!
When I reached home
I had to start cooking dinner
As mum and dad were still working!
This was the way life was: no denying it!

Many years later I remember kids talking
About my favourite characters
Ross and Demelza Poldark and
All of their adventures in Cornwall!
It might have taken me years but
I loved that precious series and 
Now I can say: even my children 
Have read those books and
Seen them on DVD!
