Retreat at Moonta

We left Nuri after ten a.m.
Two cars full of carers
Ready for a lovely break
We collected a couple
Further along the road
Heading North West to Moonta!
The dry dusty land
Was just the same
As we headed along
Those country roads
No rain or greenery
Just normal scenery
Bushes and Eucalypts
Flowering with bees
Close to those calming seas
We reached them finally
And had a great swim
The waves were dark green and
From that jetty were seen
A few fishermen
A pontoon was chained down
To ride those waves
We climbed up and were
Surely buffeted
It was so much fun
To pretend we were surfing!
Holding our own
Balancing and yelling
Into that wind that was blowing
Thoroughly wetting all over us!
