Birthday girl 28 June

My precious girl came into the world
Pale blue shade; oxygen starved!
Cord wrapped around her neck: doctor distressed
The tray of instruments; a tangled mess!
She held my baby's life in her hands
Told me not to push; hang on tight
Got to get this mess undone!
Finally she slipped on out
Still blue; but pinkening!

How amazing; our memories do linger on
From our birth!
When Shelley was two years old
Her teddy bears; I was told
Didn't like their pretty bows
It hurt their necks; must be undone
Taken right off!
