Pumpkin soup

Made some yummy pumpkin soup
The pumpkin had to be used!
Cooked up some onion as my base
Olive oil; just a trace!
Added potatoes and Jap Pumpkin
Vegeta and garlic of course!
Simmered it along
But no-one felt like eating it
What to do? Kept it in the fridge
For nearly a week
Still no takers; I was beat!
So out it went to my pets!
The stumpy tails gathered round
The old frying pan was their bowl
Eating pumpkin soup was their goal!
Four little kittens came to eat too! 
Mother Molly brought them with her purrs
Some crows and magpies joined the crowd
Making noise; squawking loud!
Even the earwigs thought it was a treat!
Now the pumpkin soup is nearly gone and
All I'm left with are some kittens
Doing orange poop!
