Girl's night out

It was Friday night when we went out
A girl's night out it was to be called
I went along but it wasn't my scene
I was not into pubs and drinking...
Even way back then...May of 1980
All my life I have tried to fit in...
Tried to belong to some group but
Though I tried...I just couldn't cut it
I was never a drinker I suppose...
I was introverted, too shy to rage
Kathy, Alicia, Jenny and Joanne
We started at the Marryatville Hotel
Went to The Buckingham Arms as well
Then last we went to the British Hotel
I had had enough by then...
Headed home: I had truly had my fill...
Kathy came home with me...
We were looking for our two men
They had gone to Downtown in Hindley Street
They got home at about 1:30 am...
