We voted in the elections

On the 18th of October
When the voting was done...
I wrote it in my diary
I read it just today...
Its funny how we remember
Some things we write on down
Would I even recall it now?
If I hadn't done that then...
Well I guess it doesn't matter
Many years have flown on by
But still it is written there
And seen by my own eyes
A distant little memory
Of little value to me now
But more importantly on that day
I met Nancy and Jenny Harrington
And Chris walker from Katherine NT
They are childhood friends
And those memories die hard
