The picker's quarters

There was a little house upon the block
It was called the picker's quarters
Hardly more than a shack: it was old
It was not much to look at but it was a start
A new little home for us to share...
Way back in Kingston-on-Murray in the 1980's...
We made a start and tore bits down
Updated them and that was the part
Of creating our little home to live in there
Close to mum and dad: just up the road
Alec and Debbie lived with baby Hugh
Across the dirt road it's true...
All our family on the same fruit block
Three little homes to fit us all
Ah that was the life we'd made
Way back in the 1980's...
