Bushfire moon 14/1/14

The storm front blasted in: like a hurricane
Bringing gusts of wind: bringing rain again
So many places felt the grinding surge of heat
As lightning struck everywhere to the rain drops' beat
Fires blazed up into roaring life: everywhere was strife
Fire fighters rushing to the deafening call: under a pall
Smoke rising up into that blistering summer sky
The calls came quick & fast: like an awful blast
Bringing destruction in it wake: no mistake!

  2. We were very blessed to have missed the fires; they were all around but I prayed that the wind would change directions so we could escape the worst of it! our home was safe then as we watched the fires leaping along the ridge of hills! The sky was red! Greetings from crazy hot Australia!
