When God made the world he declared
The evening & the morning were the first day
Now as we honour Him: our maker: he asks
That we keep the Sabbath day holy: for Him
This day was created for our blessed rest
It is easy to remember when it begins because
It is as the sun is setting that His blessed day starts
Just as when He made everything that we know
Just as from the very beginning it was so!
Each & every Friday evening as the sun goes down
That is the starting point: that is the beginning
Of each blessed Sabbath day: our day of rest
This day is truly blessed: honour Him who made us all!
