My whole family used to work at our apricot cutting shed
My uncle & cousins sometimes helped out when they could
The guys did the fruit picking: the women did the fruit cutting
Sometimes we had too many green fruit in our buckets &
My dad had to find out why it was so: he had to go & check &
Ask the guys: "What the heck are you doing picking them green?"
We finally found the problem: two of my cousins were colour blind!
They couldn't tell which fruit was ripe? Couldn't tell which were green!
So they just had to feel around to find the ripe ones: squashing them!
What a mess but then at least we knew & dad had to hire a new crew!
