Dover St gardens

When Nana Lindy first moved in
There was no garden: just a plot of dirt
She took over that little place & created
A little bit of paradise right here
In the side streets of Adelaide
In Dover Street, Maylands to be exact
Right next door to Aunty Imelda
Her darling baby sister: close at hand
They would venture out for their walks
Around those quiet suburban streets
Bringing home all sorts of plants
Purloined along their little walks
Saving plants from their slow deaths
As they were stuck in dry footpaths!
They gathered many interesting little cuttings
That hung over someone's garden fence
Took them home & lovingly cared for them
Yes they were placed into a little paradise
In that magical little back yard in Dover Street!
