Bianca called last night
With Drew at Sanderston
Told of their terrible plight
Almost lost their home
Had to fight for their lives
The fire came creeping around
The homestead: under siege
The creek bed was a Godsend
Stopped those creeping fires
The fences are all gone now
Eaten by those destructive tongues
Licking at everything in their way
Grass fires delectably eating up
Everything in their wanton path
Thank God for the CFS
Thank God for the helicopter too
Plus two aeroplanes: dropping water
Down upon those roaring flames!
